Survey Association of 1914 announces a planned change in its executive management, effective 1 September 2026.
Nabil Attia has been appointed CEO and will assume responsibility for the company’s day-to-day leadership from that date. He succeeds Henrik Uth, who will step down after 13 years in the role.
Henrik Uth leaves the executive role having led Survey Association through a significant period of development following the management buyout from CODAN in 2017 and the company’s subsequent turnaround to profitability, with a strong focus on digitalisation and the continued evolution of marine surveying. During his tenure, Survey Association transitioned from a marine insurance service provider to a marine consulting partner, expanded into new areas of risk management and loss prevention, and introduced new digital approaches to surveying through platforms including SA Cargo, Galleon, SA Remote, and SA Instruct. This work was recognised when Survey Association was named a finalist for the Danish Business Authority’s Digital Transformation Award, Årets Digitale SMV, in 2020.
Building on this foundation, Nabil Attia will take over as CEO, bringing both continuity and extensive experience from the global shipping industry. Nabil has been part of Survey Association’s leadership since 2024 and has more than 20 years of industry experience, primarily with Maersk, where he held several senior commercial leadership roles and managed business units across the sector.

Continuity and a planned transition
The leadership change is the result of a long-term succession plan designed to ensure continuity and stability for Survey Association, its clients and partners.
Henrik Uth will remain a shareholder and continue as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors. He will also be available in a senior advisory capacity focused on selected client relationships.
