Survey Association of 1914 A/S (SA) and its partner in Japan, Specialists Center of Port and Airport Engineering (SCOPE) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) contract for the construction of Pattern Energy/GPI’s 112 megawatt Ishikari Offshore Wind project, located approximately three kilometers from the shore of the Ishikari Bay in Hokkaido, Japan.

“We’re excited to be working with GPI and Pattern Energy on the largest offshore wind power and storage project in Japan. Together with our partner – SCOPE, we are working as one team on the MWS work to assist the project on risk mitigation and loss prevention.” says Henrik Uth, CEO of Survey Association.

The Ishikari Offshore Wind project is expected to reach commercial operation in December of 2023 and will utilize 14 Siemens Gamesa 8.0 MW wind turbines. The SG 8.0‐167 DD offshore turbine is designed to meet local codes and standards regarding typhoons, seismic activities, 50 Hertz operation, as well as operation in high and low ambient temperatures.
