Survey Association of 1914 A/S, together with its Japanese partner, Specialists Center of Port and Airport Engineering (SCOPE), has been appointed Marine Warranty Surveyor for the construction of the 112 MW Ishikari Offshore Wind Project in Hokkaido, Japan.
Located approximately three kilometres offshore in Ishikari Bay, the project is being developed by Pattern Energy and Green Power Investment Corporation (GPI) and represents one of Japan’s largest offshore wind developments.

We’re excited to be working with GPI and Pattern Energy on the largest offshore wind power and storage project in Japan. Together with our partner – SCOPE –, we will work as one team to support the project through effective risk mitigation and loss prevention.
The Ishikari Offshore Wind project is expected to reach commercial operation in December of 2023 and will utilise 14 Siemens Gamesa 8.0 MW wind turbines. The SG 8.0‐167 DD offshore turbine is designed to meet local codes and standards regarding typhoons, seismic activities, 50 Hertz operation, as well as operation in high and low ambient temperatures.
Survey Association has supported offshore wind developments for more than two decades, providing Marine Warranty Survey and risk engineering services to owners, operators, and insurers across Europe and Asia.

Specialists Center of Port and Airport Engineering (SCOPE) was formed as an affiliated organisation of the former Ministry of Transport, Ports and Harbors Bureau in 1994.
