Survey Association of 1914 Ltd. (SA) has appointed Russell Burnett to head up its marine services in the UK.
He will support SA on existing marine projects whilst seeking to provide marine survey services and marine consultancy to clients in the UK, thereby strengthening the company’s services and local reach.
Russell brings nearly three decades of marine industry experience, beginning his career at sea and rising to the rank of Master. Transitioning ashore, he became a certified auditor, inspector, and investigator, conducting marine incident investigations, condition surveys, and compliance audits across global operations. His leadership roles in regional towage operations and as COO for Svitzer’s Africa, Middle East, and Asia region further solidified his expertise in operational safety, risk assessment, and strategic planning. More recently, as Director of SMS Towage, he led modernisation efforts to enhance efficiency across marine operations. Russell now applies his auditing, surveying, and investigative expertise as a consultant, advising on compliance, risk mitigation, surveys, and marine operational strategies.
